Workshop tutors

Debbie is the owner of Purl, and just about brilliant at everything! She is a brilliant knitter, and a demon at sewing! Debbie runs the Thursday after school sewing workshop, where the children can learn basic sewing skills and create their own small projects.
Kate Kingham
Kate is a fashion knitwear designer, selling her work to designers and high street names. Accessories from her Pompom label are available locally at Purl and Brighton Open Houses. Kate graduated from Brighton University in 1991 with a BA (Hons) Fashion Textiles.
Sarah Dobson
Sarah is a practising exhibiting artist and lecturer in drawing at Brighton University. She has a BA (Hons) Painting from Bradford University and graduated from Brighton University with an MA in Fine Art.
Phil Bint
Phil is a fashion and textiles tutor at the Brighton and Hove City College. He is an experienced pattern cutter and has an in depth knowledge of pattern cutting and garment construction techniques. He has produced work for local theatre, designing and making garments for productions. Phil also exhibits in the Brighton Festival in the Open Houses.
Mary Dean
Mary is a local felt artist, who frequently exhibits in the Brighton festival as part of the Open Houses. She is experienced in all area's of felting, from gorgeous corsages, bags through to delightful fairies.
Emma Seddon
Emma Seddon has worked as a design consultant for Rowan and is an experienced crochet workshop organiser and demonstrator.
