Brighton Belles

Well, the morning started wet and rainy and the gazebos looked set to blow into the sea, but by 1pm the sun was out and there was Pimms on tap. Purl set up our stall of tea cosies, baby booties and miscellaneous other knitty goodies, then stocked ourselves up with more than enough home made cakes to last the afternoon...

For a change, and a chance to get out into the sun, Purl is taking it's collection of colourful yarns, assorted needles, knitted knick knacks and maybe a handful of ceramic buttons, to the WI summer fete this Saturday, July 31st.

It looks set to be a traditional mix of stalls, games, cocktails, tea and handmade cakes and a treasure hunt. you won't find any nasty hotdogs and rubbish for sale.

We reccommend you come along - all in aid of Fun in Action and Brighton's Women's Centre

World Knit in Public Day - June

Not just a day but a whole week of knitting in public. Back in 2005, Danielle Landes had the idea of bringing knitting out in the open so knitters, crocheters and the like could share their skills and meet fellow yarn crafters. Now in it's fifth year there looks to be over 700 events around the world - China, Norway, Australia, South Africa, Finland and the United States have all participated in the past.

This year there are two events happening in Sussex, welcoming knitters and their like, so here at Purl we thought we ought to let you know:
